IKEA Foundation Innovation Offsite

A nature-inspired offsite in a greenhouse

 Inspired by the concept of forest bathing, we brought the entire IKEA Foundation programs team into nature for a 2-day offsite in a gorgeous botanical garden in Leiden, The Netherlands. We designed and facilitated a program that helped get folks into play and out of “office mode” in order to prototype new ways of collaborating across portfolio teams. We got inspired by natural forms and systems on long nature walks, we leveraged improv and theater, and we held a mini Shark Tank-style competition. Many laughs were had as we connected in new ways while getting ultra-productive on a strategic roadmap to help this powerful team deploy billions toward climate, refugee support, and food systems work.
